Wascana Winter Festival outdoor activities moved to March 2

Due to extreme cold weather, the outdoor portion of the Wascana Winter Festival has been moved to Sunday, March 2, organizers announced Friday.

Outdoor classics, including sleigh rides, snow yoga, an obstacle course — and even snow cricket were originally scheduled for Sunday Feb. 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Instead, the activities will take place on March 2 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Skating at the Rink on Wascana, which is offered by Wascana Centre, continues to be available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Indoor activities will proceed as scheduled over the Family Day long weekend, including a “Gift of Winter”-themed exhibit at the Regina Performing Arts Centre showcasing the work of local artists.

The exhibit opened Wednesday and runs until Sunday Feb. 16, with an artist reception at 2 p.m. on Sunday Feb. 16.

The Regina Community Orchestra is also scheduled to perform at the Holy Rosary Cathedral on Monday Feb. 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
